Harris Safety-Silv® 40
40% Silver Solder Brazing Alloy
Safety Silv 40 brazing filler metal is formulated for brazing copper, brass, and steel. The melting range allows use where part clearance cannot be tightly controlled. This braze alloy offers good flow characteristics and the opportunity for cost reduction compared with traditional 45% silver alloys
Features
- Cadmium-free, silver brazing alloy
- Good ductility
- Often used for corrosion applications or high temperature service, so suitability for the brazing alloy should be evaluated for the intended condition
- Good replacement for hazardous cadmium bearing filler metals
- Moderate temperature alloy with a medium plastic range, making it suitable for brazing assemblies with wider gaps
- Corrosion resistance is generally similar to copper base metal, but because of its zinc content it should Not be used if the braze is exposed to concentrated corrosive liquid for long periods of time
- Conforms to the EU Reach & RoHS directive
-
Chemical Composition: Silver(Ag) 40% / Copper(Cu) 30% / Zinc(Zn) 30%
